Bass-baritone Joseph Wilson (he/him) has performed to much success for audiences in the United States, Canada, and Italy. Recent operatic appearances include Guglielmo in Opera Festival of Niagara’s production of Le villi, Dancaïre (Carmen) with Bel Cantanti, performances as Prunier (La rondine) and Schaunard (La bohème) with Operavision Academy in Busseto, Italy, and Tinca/Vendittore di canzonette (Il trittico) with Opera Niagara. He has also performed scenes/selections from Rodolfo (La sonnambula), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), and Guido Monforte (I vespri siciliani) with Cantolopera, and Argante (Rinaldo), Riccardo (I puritani), and Giorgio Germont (La traviata) with Operavision Academy.
Mr. Wilson is also active as an actor in the DC area. He recently appeared as the Attendant/Messenger in Songs of the Goat’s production of MEDEA Ben Power for Capital Fringe 2024. In July 2023 he appeared as Don Pedro and Seacoal in Shakespeare Opera Theatre’s production of Much ado about nothing (with musical selections from Hector Berlioz’s operatic adaptation Béatrice et Bénédict). In 2021 he competed in the DC chapter of Monologue Madness and appeared in Arts on the Horizon’s production of By the seashore.
